History of Landmark

This area was initially called Prairie Rose. It was open land until 1907, when a handful of homesteads were established here. After World War I ended in 1918, more people began settling here. Many of them were Mennonite families looking for land to grow crops. The name of this location was officially changed to Landmark in 1920.

The area started to see businesses emerging in the 1950s. Many of them provided feed and other supplies for Landmark’s farming and ranching operations. Others offered services for residents, including vehicle repairs.
